Video transmission systems for operation over leased telephone lines and unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wire cables.
These systems are designed for use over leased metalic telephone lines; can be either direct or through a central telephone office. These systems operate over point-to-point unshielded twisted pair wire of 18 AWG to 26 AWG . Individually shielded twisted pairs should not be used. Connections through splices and punch-down blocks are acceptable. The systems transmit an "unconditional refresh" time-lapse video update, transmitting up to 10 miles(16.1 kilometers).
Distance specifications are based upon 24 AWG wire and will vary with other gauges of wire. To determine which system fits a particular application, it is important to first determine the correct cable length.
