Ethernet over Coax Single Channel Solution 

The Etherstretch™ EL1500C allows IP cameras to transmit over Coax cabling. The Ethernet over coax technology allows the system to extend IP cameras beyond cable distance limitations and also acts as a PoE inserter. The EL1500C, single channel EtherStretch™ system includes both the transmitter and receiver units. The System transmits IP cameras over coax and can quickly turn any ordinary RG59U coaxial cable into a high speed network communication & PoE path. When operating over RG59U coaxial cable, the IP camera extender can operate for distances of up to 500 meters (1,640 feet). The EL1500C Ethernet over Coax extender system consists of a transmitter and receiver which require very little installation time & absolutely no set up or configuration. The EL1500C IP cameras over coax systems are transparent to the network and have no IP or MAC addressing. Simply connect your network devices to the network ports of the EtherStretch™ the IP cameras over coax transmitter and receiver along with existing cabling and the system begins communicating. LED indicators show the status of IP cameras and network communication in addition to the PoE power status.

When connected to a PoE switch, power from the switch is used as the power source for the connected EL1500C IP camera over coax receiver. In applications where network switches are not PoE capable, an optional power source (PS48 sold separately) can be used to insert power to the EL1500C Ethernet over coax receiver. The power is sent from the receiver over the coax to the IP Over Coax transmitter. The EtherStretch™ transmitter uses PoE as its power source and powers the connected PoE network device as well. The EL1500C coax network extender system extends network communications over coax to overcome cable distance limitations offering connections to devices in locations traditional networking does not allow.

The Etherstretch™ EL1500CW is an outdoor rated Ethernet over Coax network extender and PoE Inserter which is a component of the EtherStretch™ family of products. The EL1500CW Outdoor Rated Ethernet over Coax system includes a receiver, transmitter, and a NEMA4X rated enclosure to house the transmitter. The Ethernet over coax system transmits IP cameras over coax and provides for quick replacement of any outdoor analog camera with an outdoor IP camera using existing RG59U coaxial cable as its high speed network communication & PoE path. The EL1500CW provides operation well beyond network limitations, operating over RG59U coaxial cable for distances of up to 500 meters (1,640 feet). The EL1500CW coax Ethernet extender system consists of a weatherproof enclosure which houses the transmitter and also a receiver, which requires very little installation time & absolutely no set up or configuration. Multi-Channel eight (ER8500C) or sixteen (ER16500C) Ethernet over coax receivers are the newest addition to the Etherstretch™ family of products. These receivers not only provide IP video over coax over multiple EtherStretch™ channels, but also provide a Gigabit PoE plus network switch. The EtherStretch™ receiver units extend Ethernet over coax up to 500 meters (1,640ft.) while sending power over Ethernet on the same coaxial cable to operate up to 16 ET1500C Transmitter units (sold separately). The Etherstretch solution allows for the utilization of existing coaxial infrastructure to both transmit IP cameras and other network devices and to power them over the coax as well. The ER8500C and ER16500C Receiver and ET1500C units comprise a system which can transmit multiple IP cameras over coax and can quickly turn any ordinary RG59U coaxial cable into a high speed network communication & PoE path. When operating over RG59U coaxial cable, the Ethernet over coax network extenders can operate for distances of up to 500 meters (1,640 feet). The ER16500C coax Ethernet extender receiver along with the ET1500C transmitters require very little installation time & absolutely no set up or configuration. When retrofitting an existing analog site the eight or sixteen channel EtherStretch™ receiver simply takes the place of the existing analog DVR. The existing coaxial BNC cables are removed from the DVR and attached to the BNC connectors of the EtherStretch™ "Ethernet Over Coax" receiver. The EtherStretch™ receiver's intergrated PoE+ power source will send IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at power over the coax to power the remote EL1500C IP cameras over coax transmitters and their connected PoE IP camera. The System is transparent to the network and has no IP or MAC addressing. Simply connect your network devices to the network ports of the Ethernet over coax transmitters and receivers along with existing coaxial cabling and the system begins communicating. LED indicators show the status of network communication and PoE power.

The internal power supply in the ER16500C receiver provides PoE to all the devices on the system. The EtherStretch™ coax network extender system extends network communications to overcome cable distance limitations offering connections to devices in locations traditional networking does not allow.

 IP Camera Surge Protection and Ethernet Extenders 

When upgrading CCTV camera systems from analog to IP, there are other items that may be required to complete the installation. Many times we overlook items such as surge protection for our connected IP devices. IP cameras in particular are devices that are installed outside of traditional network parameters. We install cameras outside, on light poles elevated feet above surrounding structures, in the middle of open parking lots, freight yards and constructions sites. In addition we mount cameras to metal structures, building overhangs, and grid work next to high voltage devices in industrial applications such as rooftop air conditioners, lighting ballast, voice and PA systems, assembly line cranes, CNC machines and other devices known to introduce surges, transients and spike into surrounding low voltage cabling.

Other products which may be required are Ethernet repeaters, PoE inserters and mid-span PoE injectors.
