PoE PLUG-IN CARD FOR UTP VIDEO, POWER & DATA SYSTEM

8/24/07 - Rolling Meadows, IL -A new PoE Plug-In module for use in NITEK’s patented UTPLinks™ system, makes possible the convenient addition and powering of IP cameras in an existing “Structured Cabling” environment.

The UTPLinks modular system integrates the functions of video, power and data into unshielded twisted pair (UTP) structured cabling infrastructures. The current line of UTPLinks plug-in modules function with analog video. The new true PoE48 Card adds IP cameras to the scheme, providing for the integration of analog and IP cameras into a CCTV system design. Both analog and IP cameras can now easily co-exist within a common structured cabling system. The PoE48 further enhances the flexibility of the UTPLinks system to deal with “moves, additions and changes” as systems grow or require upgrades.  

IP cameras can be added to a network or used to replace analog cameras entirely. The IP cameras are powered from the PoE48 Card and cabling is routed through the UTPLinks Combiner chassis to a Network switch.  The unique modular plug-In design of UTPLinks makes this highly flexible system possible, enabling multiple cards of various functions to be integrated in a wide scope of CCTV system designs. The PoE48 Card further enhances this capability, adding an entire new range of applications.

UTPLinks utilizes the same network infrastructure and maintains the same standards as the data network, yet does not consume any network resources. The system is a fully scalable infrastructure that supports any CCTV application and provides a seamless migration path for future technologies.. All components are UL Listed and meet CE requirements. UTPLInks is also standards compliant with ANSI/TIA/EIA, National Telecommunications and BICSI installation practices.
